PAUL E. LAVALLEE
SPRINGFIELD- Paul E. Lavallee, 79, of Springfield, passed away at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home on June 22, 2019. He was born in Manhattan, NY on February 2, 1940, son of the late Raoul and Alma (Provost) Lavallee. After completing high school Paul proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He later served as a police officer for 9 years in Hartford CT, then went on to work as a prison guard in Arizona and Connecticut and parole officer in Connecticut, touching the lives of many. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 224, AMVETS, and DAV. He loved football, his animals, attending Broadway shows, and helping others through AA meetings. Paul was the founder of the Westfield Youth Football Program. Paul was extremely generous and donated heavily to many charities and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He will be missed by his loving son Gregory Lavallee and his girlfriend Jenna Godwin of Boynton Beach, FL; his companion of 15 years Carla Metzler of West Springfield; his former spouse Linda Erikson of St. Augustine, FL, as well as cousins and several dear friends. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10 AM in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA.
