Chicopee – Nickoletta “Nickie” Mary (Dascanio) Dyka, 98, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Monday November 8, 2021 at Willimansett West Nursing Home in Chicopee. Born in Chicopee to Santi and Emma (DiSanti) Dascanio, she was a lifelong resident. Nickie worked as an Inspector in a local factory many years, but she was most proud of being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Pauda Church in Chicopee and had a strong Catholic faith. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore J. Dyka in 2006, and by her brother’s, Thomas, Joseph, George and Veto Dascanio and her sister’s, Palmina Dascanio, Pauline Camarotti, Mary Zawacki, Viola Szetela and Stella Gajda. She is survived by her two sons, Carl T. Dyka and his wife Kathleen of Maryland and Allen J. Dyka of Chicopee; by her granddaughter, Therese Dyka and by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass and Committal services in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee will be announced at a later date.
