Maria Gordon peacefully passed away, at the age of 79, on April 24th, 2020 with her daughter by her side. Maria was born to the late Jose Rosario and Paula Ortiz. She worked for the city of Springfield for many years as a paraprofessional, along with sharing in her full-time ministry. Maria, better known as “Cuca” to those that knew and loved her, was a member of the Chicopee West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized on April 9th, 1981, and shortly thereafter become a regular pioneer, which she did faithfully for 38 years. “Cuca” enjoyed many things cooking, spending time with friends, but most importantly her ministry, where she was able to teach people about Jehovah’s Kingdom. Maria was predeceased by her sister Sylvia O’Connor and brother Danny Ortiz. She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Randy) Blake, of Springfield, Ma. and her son Harry (Jacqui) Gordon of Orlando, Fl. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jake (Jany) Coyle, Angelina Walker, Jade Blake, Jeccikka Hall and Jennipher Cendana. Cuca also left behind a great-granddaughter Aaliyah Walker to whom she referred to as "Momma". Services will be held Friday May 1st, 2020 at 11:00am at Brunelle Funeral Home, in Chicopee, Ma. and burial services will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Springfield, Ma.
