Glenn Russel Pittsinger, Sr., 65, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Friday, January 15, 2021.
He was born in Chicopee on April 1, 1955, son of Howard and Dorothy (Newsome) Pittsinger. He graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and the United Parcel Service.
Glenn is survived by his former wife, Brenda Lavallee, with whom he had his cherished children, Matthew Pittsinger of Manhattan, NY; Glenn R. Pittsinger, Jr and Sambath Leang of Indian Orchard; and Zachariah Pittsinger and Erika Thompson of Agawam. And by his grandchildren, Devon Thompson and Xavier Pittsinger of Agawam; and Arya and Elijah Pittsinger of Indian Orchard. And his dear sister Mya Swider of Alexandria, VA.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Howard, and his beloved son, Jeremiah Pittsinger, who was called to God in 2009.
He also leaves his many nieces, nephews and friends. Glenn was Vice-President of the Mountain Grove Association in Becket, MA, where -- having always felt most at home in Massachusetts’ rural Berkshires -- he happily summered with his children. He was also a proud member of the Arbor Day Foundation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, January 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in Chicopee.
