Esther Ann (Gagnon) Montgomery, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 17, 2021, a day before her 73rd birthday. She was born in Holyoke to her father, Florian Gagnon and her mother the late Esther (Pelletier) Gagnon. She was predeceased by her stepmother, Connie (Ruczinski) Gagnon and her stepfather, Robert Goudreau.
Esther resided in Maine for many years. She loved the Lord and teaching Sunday School for many years in Millinocket, Maine. She also enjoyed singing for the Lord. Esther was a real people person, and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a talented artist and had a knack for crafts and drawing.
Besides her father, Florian, she is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Richard M. Montgomery of Chicopee; her three sons, Steven Langille, and his wife Robin of Columbus, OH, Thomas Langille of Bangor, ME and Richard Montgomery, Jr. and his fiancé, Diane, of Manchester, NH; her brother, Roger Goudreau and his wife Lisa of Southampton; her grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Davin, Preston, Kyle, Ryan, Michelle and Josh; by several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Chloe who she loved like a daughter.
Besides her mother and stepparents, she was also predeceased by her beloved brothers, Robert “Bobby” Gagnon, and Garry Goudreau.
A period of visitation will be held for Esther on Thursday July 22nd from 12:00 –1:00 p.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee followed by a 1:00 p.m. service in the funeral home.
