Edward R. Pelland, 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 12, 2021 at the home of his daughter. He was born on September 15, 1930 to the late Edward and Dorilla (Gauthier) Pelland. Edward was educated in the Mt. Carmel School in Chicopee and was a graduate of Rosary High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life, Shirley J. Pelland in 1954 and together enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Edward was a self-employed Master Electrician for Pelland Electric and was a proud member of the Holyoke Revolver Club.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife to all 50 States and multiple Provinces in Canada. In his spare time, he took pleasure in hiking with family, target shooting and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to his annual fishing trip to remote Quebec. Most of all, Edward treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He will be missed by his dear children, Cheryl Pelland-Lak and her husband Robert of South Hadley, Edward Pelland and his wife Jacqueline of Farmington, CT, John Pelland and Della Marie D’Antonio of Chicopee, and Kimberly Galindo and her husband Kenneth of Ludlow; his 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He will also be missed by his siblings, Lawrence Pelland and Rita, Patricia Jamrog, Suzanne Azrak and Raymond , Diane Wright and Richard and Peter Pelland and Barbara; his sister-in-law, Elaine Delisle; his brother-in-law, Donald Cramer, several nieces and nephews, dear friends Ralph and Ellen Rechenberger, as well his many close friends at the Holyoke Revolver Club.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. The funeral will begin on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 8:45AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 10 AM at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee. The rite of Committal and Burial will conclude in the Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
