Doris Lena (Cote) DesRochers, age 90, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, accepted the Lord's invitation to join Him and her husband Conrad on December 26, 2020, passing at the Elaine Center in Hadley, after a short illness. Born in Willimansett on May 27,1930, the daughter of the late Norman A. and Irene F. (Salois-Coulter) Cote, she was educated in Chicopee schools, and a graduate of Chicopee High School class of 1947. Doris was a communicant of the St Rose de Lima Church. She was married to Conrad in October of 1951, and was blessed with 55 years of happiness, before his passing in January of 2007. Throughout her career, Doris worked as a private secretary for Savage Arms and for the family business, Leo A. DesRochers Sons as a bookkeeper, the Insurance Company of North America and administrative assistant for the local Wendy's restaurants, retiring in 2007. Doris enjoyed bowling in many state and national tournaments over the years and was a member of the Springfield Women's Bowling Association and former board member and director and 2nd Vice President for the Bowling Association for 23 years. She will be deeply missed by her four daughters, Diana (Tom) Eldredge, Doreen Guyette, Donna (Kevin) Papageorge, and Debra (Richard) Peabody and daughter-in-law Cecilia DesRochers; eight grandchildren, Mary Blascak, Marc Guyette, Aimee DesRochers, Matthew Guyette (Stephanie), Carrie DesRochers, Cory DesRochers (Shayla), Samantha Peabody, and Alan Papageorge-DesRochers; four great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Madison, Zachary, and Gabriella. She also leaves a sister, Claire DesRochers; her godchild, David DesRochers; brothers-in-law, Arnold (Butch) Craven and Edmond DesRochers; former son-in-law, Rolland (Chick) Guyette, and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, Doris was also predeceased by her son, Conrad Jr. in March of 2020; her sister, Norma Craven, and her brother-in-law, Ernest DesRochers. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday December 31st from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. with social distancing guidelines and masks required, at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. in Chicopee, followed by at Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm at St. Rose De Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. in Chicopee. Committal services will be held in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam.
