Carmen N. (Tirado) DeJesus, 73, of Chicopee, passed away January 5, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico to the late Francisco and Antolina (Barreto) Tirado, she was a longtime area resident. Carmen received her Associates degree from Holyoke Community College in Early Childhood Education and her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. She was employed as a preschool teacher at H.C.C., substitute teacher in Westfield Schools and at the Juvenile Center on Worthington St. in Springfield. She enjoyed reading, music, sewing and selling Avon for many years. Carmen was predeceased by her husband, Jose A. DeJesus. She is survived by her three children, Brenda Sanderson and her husband Scott, Jose Luis DeJesus and Carmen Place; two nephews, Edward and Kevin Tirado and by a dear friend Clara Rivera. All services are private for the family. Brunelle Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
