Chicopee – William Blakslee “Bill” Twining, 84, passed away January 25, 2022 at Noble Hospital in Westfield. He was born on January 22, 1938 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, a son of George W. and Mary (Miller) Twining. Bill served his country honorably in the Unites States Air Force for over 21 years, in which during that time he was a special investigation agent. In later years, Bill worked as a Postal Worker in Springfield and as a Courier for Baystate Health Systems. Bill enjoyed Jazz music and drumming over the years. He was an avid reader and vegetable gardener and was a member of the American Legion. Bill’s family was most important to him, and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (Hawk) Twining in 2013; by his sisters, Jean Mcerlain and Barbara McAnany and by his son-in-law, Jay Aponte. He will be dearly missed by his two children, Kim Aponte of Holyoke and Blake Twining of Chicopee; five grandchildren, Kristin Vasquez, Kelcie Twining, Joseph Vasquez, Chandler Twining and Madison Twining; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Ava and Mia, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, with a 6:30 p.m. service to be held in the funeral home. A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Friday February 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
