Wayne Raymond Switzer, 72, longtime Chicopee resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 16, 2020 at Vero at South Hadley. Born in Springfield to the late Raymond L. Switzer and Shirley L. (Bushey) Durand, he was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Wayne was employed with Diamond Match in the Mail Room for many years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Annmarie (Kimel) Switzer, whom he married in 1981 and by his brother, Michael Durand. He is survived by his siblings, Richard Allen Switzer, Sr. of Henderson, NV, and Cynthia T. Demers and her husband Ernest of Somers, CT; his niece, Nicole T. Demers of Manchester, CT and cousin, Maureen Newalu of Springfield. Calling hours and services will be private for the family. Memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to the Thomas J. O’Connor Adoption Center, 627 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104.
