Virginia M Ainville

CHICOPEE-Virginia M. (Barut) Drainville, 83, passed away at Woodlake at Tolland on September 3, 2014. Virginia was born on October 22, 1930 in Holyoke to the late Andrew and Mary Barut. She attended school in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1947. Virginia worked at Sears and Roebuck for 25 years, and later retired from the Holyoke School Department in food service. She enjoyed making and selling ceramics and playing Bingo in her spare time, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. During the summer, Virginia loved vacationing in Otis, MA. She was a lively spirit and will be greatly missed. Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Drainville, Sr. in 2013; her son Arthur Drainville, Jr. in 2006; and her sister Camilla Tougus. She is survived by her daughter Arlene Ferreira of Tolland, CT; two granddaughters, Stephanie Ferreira, and Jillian Drainville-Bryant and her husband Tim and their son Logan; and one sister Helen Wytrych and her husband Edward. Services for Virginia will be Saturday, September 6 beginning with calling hours from 8:30-10AM in the MESSIER Funeral Home, 1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee, MA. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman St, South Hadley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia’s memory to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee, MA 01013.
