Theodore S. Deren

Theodore Stanley Deren, 76, passed away April 9, 2025, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Theodore was born on December 24, 1948, in Holyoke, MA, a son of Joseph and Sophia (Tobiasz) Deren. He was a graduate of Easthampton High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Theodore was employed for over 30 years as a sheet metal worker with the E.H. Friedrich Co. in Holyoke and had a lifelong passion for fishing.

He is survived by his children, Shelly Hildebrand and her husband Corey of Chicopee and Christopher Deren of Holyoke; his siblings, Bobby, Joe, Eddie, Danny and Connie; by two granddaughters, Angelica Roy and her husband Todd and Kayla Hildenbrand; great grandson Kieran and by his dear friend, Tammy.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Petifer) Deren in 2016 and by his two sisters, Dorothy and Christine.

A committal service with Military Honors will be held for both Theodore and his wife Sandra on Thursday May 15th at 9:00 AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam. There are no calling hours. Brunelle Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
