Chicopee-Susanne Joyce (Asselin) Walmsley, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2020. Sue was a daughter of the late Edmond and Fernande (Perron) Asselin. Sue was a lifelong Chicopee resident and was educated in the Chicopee schools. She worked for many years as a waitress at several area restaurants lastly California Lunch. Sue enjoyed trips to Hamden beach, long drives with her husband, volunteering and playing bingo at the Nativity Church, spending time at the Chicopee senior center, but most of all loved family gatherings and Holidays at her home. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2003.She will be missed by her sons; Richard Walmsley and Sandi of Holyoke, David Walmsley and Tina of Granby, her grandchildren; Sarah Walmsley, Amanda Walmsley, and Richard Walmsley Jr., great-grandchildren; Mariah and Skyler, her former daughter in-law; Wendy Walmsley, and several cousins, great cousins, and many dear friends. Her funeral services are private and a her internment will take place in the Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley at a later date.
