Steven J. Morin

Steven John Morin, longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center at the age of 58.
Steven was born on March 11, 1966, in Holyoke, MA, a son of Rene J. Sr. and Barbara L. (Malke) Morin.
He was an Industrial Spray Painter for over 25 years at Westside finishing in Holyoke.
Steven was a devout fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox and when he wasn’t watching sports, he was tuned in to his favorite news station CNN.
He also enjoyed tag sailing, and cooking for his family and friends.
Steven was a very compassionate and giving man. He always put his family and friends before himself.
His presence will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.
Steven leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Denise (Tavenner) Morin, children, Augustina, and Augustine Ruiz all of Chicopee, mother, Barbara Morin and her partner, Lenny Czech of Chicopee, sister, Bonnie Leonard of West Springfield and brother Rene J. Morin, Jr. of Denver, CO, 3 granddaughters, Angelina, Autumn and Alyssa Smith, and 2 great granddaughters, Aaliyah Sharlow and Amelia Smith, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Steven is also survived by his feline friends, Papa, and Peanut.
He was predeceased by his father, Rene J. Morin, Sr.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, May 2nd, for a period of visitation for Steven from 4 – 6:30 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, with a funeral home service immediately after the visitation at 6:30 PM.
