Stanley P. Niemiro

CHICOPEE- Stanley P. Niemiro, 88, a life long resident of Chicopee passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Willimansett Nursing Home. Stanley was born in Chicopee, on May 10, 1923 a son of the late Paul and Constance (Kleczkowski) Niemiro. In 1942, he enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II. Stanley was a dedicated tire maker and retired after thirty seven years of service from the UniRoyal Tire Co.. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1849. He enjoyed tag sales, polka music, and was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen (Weneczek) Niemiro of Chicopee; his son, Martin S. Niemiro and his wife Diane of Brimfield; his three adored grandchildren, Heather Sliwa and her husband Matthew of Chicopee; Nicolas and Matthew Niemiro both of Brimfield; his two great grandchildren, Chance and Aldina Sliwa both of Chicopee. He also leaves to cherish his memory his extended family and an abundance of friends. Stanley was also predeceased by a brother and three sisters. A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church., 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. The Burial and Rite of Committal with military honors will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, Pittroff Ave., South Hadley. Memorial donations in Stanley’s name can be made to the Holyoke Soldier’s Home, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
