Shirley L Thivierge

CHICOPEE- Shirley (Farnsworth) Thivierge, 86, formerly of Columba St. passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at Holyoke Geriatric. She was born in Springfield, MA the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Vaillancourt) Farnsworth. She was a longtime telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph and later retired from AT&T. Shirley was predeceased by her husband George Thivierge in 1986. Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all, most especially her niece and nephew, Debra Dalton of Easthampton; Michael Sorel of FL who were also her caregivers and her great nieces and great nephews. Shirley will be remembered for her love of animals and her joyous celebrations at Christmas, and family card games. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 from 9:30-10:30AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013 and followed by a funeral home ceremony at 10:30AM. The burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, So. Hadley. If friends desire memorial donations can be made to Dakin Animal Shelter, 171 Union St. Spfld, MA 01101.
