Shirley Rita Rivet

CHICOPEE- Shirley R. (Quenneville) Rivet, 80, passed away at Holyoke Medical Center on Monday, February 1, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born in Holyoke on December 6, 1935 a daughter of the late Arestide and Flora (LeDuc) Quenneville and educated in Holyoke Schools. Shirley was the youngest of six children and was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers, Doris Genereux, Pearl Brodeur, Claire Rzewnicki, Marion Ross, Romeo and Roger Quenneville. She was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley�s memories will forever be shared by her six children, Patricia Moriarty of Holyoke; Donna Wells of Holyoke; Sandy Pyle of Springfield; Skip Goshea of Southwick; Steve Goshea of Chicopee and David Rivet of Chicopee. As a true �Memere�, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Lisa Moriarty, Kathleen Stanley, Sara Welch, Stacy Bernier, Samantha Hoar, Mia Goshea, Nicole Bushey, Joshua Bushey, Kalee Goshea, Tyler Hewitt & Emma Lee Rivet; 12 great grandchildren: Isis Rivera, David Moriarty, Jonathan Stanley, Danielle Stanley, Stephanie Welch, Alexis Welch, Zachary Welch, Avalee Strong, Avery Strong, Jeramy Hoar, Kayleigh Hoar, Lily Hoar and 4 great great grandchildren: Dakota Dewey, Indiana Dewey, Nevada Dewey & Kiana Rivera. She was also predeceased by her devoted husband of over 25 years, Ronald L. Rivet in 1995 and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. A life celebration will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A funeral home service will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 5, 2016 and be followed by the Rite of Committal and Burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
