SPRINGFIELD – Shirley A. (Francis) McInerney, 77, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Chicopee on March 18, 1932 to the late Lewis and Caroline (Majka) Francis. Shirley attended schools in Chicopee and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. She worked for a short time at the former Springfield Photomount and was a member and past historian of the Fairview American Legion Auxillary Post 438. Shirley will be sadly missed by her husband, James P. McInerney Sr. of Chicopee; her son James P. McInerney Jr. and his wife Sharyn of Chicopee; her three daughters, Linda A. DeVivo and her husband Brian of Chicopee, Sandra A. McInerney of Chicopee and Tracy A. Hess and her husband Ron of Southwick; her two sisters, Caroline Reinholdt of TX and June St. Lawrence of  Portland, ME; her ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral procession will form on Friday, June 12 at 8:45 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Burial will be at a later date and will be private. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made in Shirley’s memory, to a charity of one’s choice.
