Tribute
Ronald J. Gomez, 78, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2020 at his home. Ronald was born in Rutland, VT to the late Joseph and Gladys (LaJoice) Gomez and was raised and educated in Chicopee. Ronald served his country honorably for four tours of duty in the United States Navy as a Radioman First Class. He worked for several local manufacturing companies and later retired from the U.S. Post Office as a supervisor. Ronald loved spending time with his family, boating, and watching old movies. He will be missed by his beloved wife Vanessa Gomez of Chicopee, whom together they enjoyed many years of each other’s company. He also leaves his children, Cheryl-Ann Blase and her husband Robert, Darlene Borowski and her husband John of Holyoke, Lori-Ann Racine, Aaron Gomez and his wife Pelagia, Anthony Gomez and his partner Anna Reynolds; his step children, Agnieszka Chielewski and her husband Richard of Enfield, CT, Miroslaw Szewc and his wife Agnieszka of Poland; his grandchildren, Joseph Collins, Lauren Murphy, Genevieve Araujo, Kyle Reed, Abigail, Tyler, Adam, Philip, and Iga; three great-grandchildren and sister, Joyce Grycel. The family wishes to thank their friends and staff at the Fresenius Medical Dialysis Center for all their compassionate care over the past 3 ½ years. All are invited to meet for Ronald’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Church, 566 Front Street in Chicopee, followed by committal services with Military Honors in the Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee.
