Ronald James Erickson, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2022 with his loving family at his side. Born in Spencer, MA on August 24, 1934 to Carl and Elva (Johnson) Erickson, he was a longtime resident of Chicopee.
Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on October 16, 1951, at the age of 17. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and Vietnam War, before retiring as a Technical Sergeant in 1971.
Ronald was employed within the moving industry for many years, and most recently worked in Maintenance at a Nursing Home in Chicopee.
He married his beloved wife, Doris M. (Prichard) Erickson in June of 1955 and together they shared 66 wonderful years.
Besides his wife Doris, he leaves his children, Tammy Champoux of Belchertown and Ronald Erickson, Jr of Chicopee; sister, Elaine Slaton of Florida; six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his son, Donald C. Erickson Jr. and sister, Barbara Dumas.
Committal prayers and burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at West Cemetery in Granby, MA.
