RONALD D. BROWN 1935 � 2012 CLEARWATER, FL- Ron Brown, 76, passed away at his home in Clearwater on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Ron was born in Springfield, MA and resided here before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. �Brownie� as he was better known, served honorably with his unit during the Korean War. He resided in Chicopee for many years and also made his home in East Longmeadow. Brownie was a longtime linesman with Northeast Utilities/ WMECO and retired in 1992 after working over 35 years with the company. Enjoying his retirement, Brownie moved to Clearwater, FL where he has resided since 1992. He married Helen (Babcock) Brown and the couple enjoyed over 25 years in marriage and travels. He was a member of the American Legion in Maderia Beach and enjoyed spending time at the beach and on ocean cruises. In addition to his devoted wife, Brownie is survived by a son, Kevin Brown and his wife Elizabeth of Gainesville, FL; two step daughters, Irene Guilmette of Belchertown and Kathryn Reinke of Chicopee. �Grampa� will be dearly missed by his two granddaughters, Jessica and Gracie Brown and �Pops� will have a special place in the hearts of Thomas, Sharon, Justin, Heather and Mark. Ronald now joins a son, Wayne Brown, who died in 2006 in eternal peace and rest. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A funeral home service will begin on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10AM and be followed by the burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee, MA.
