Roland St. Laurent
1939-2015
CHICOPEE- Roland St. Laurent, 75, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015. He was born in Holyoke on October 9, 1939, a son of the late Joseph and Loretta (Perron) St. Laurent. He was educated in Holyoke Schools. Roland was a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Department of the Defense, retiring in 2005. He served 33 years with the 104th Tactical Fighter Group in Westfield. He spent many years with the Chicopee Special Police, retiring as Captain. Roland was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee and was a chairperson of many parish events. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 15125. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert St. Laurent. Roland leaves his loving wife and best friend of 53 years, Elizabeth (Zajac) St. Laurent; and daughter Cheryl Cassidy of Springfield. Visiting hours for Roland will be Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. Services will be Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the funeral home at 9 AM, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at a later date in MA Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St, Chicopee, MA 01013.
