Roland G. Barree

Roland Gerard Barree, beloved husband of Donna (Desrosiers) Barree, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Day Brook Village in Holyoke. Roland was born on May 23, 1956, in Holyoke, MA, the son of Joseph A. Barree and Irene B. (Coderre) Barree. He was raised and educated in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Roland had various jobs throughout his career and was most recently a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. He had several hobbies and interests that included bowling, playing cards especially Pitch, loved watching Jeopardy, and educational shows, and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed going to church at the former St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, where he was also an usher. Roland leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Donna of Chicopee, her children, Tina Piechota and Jeremy Piechota both of West Springfield, sister, Charlene Barree of Chicopee, cherished grandchildren, Damien, Tiana, Raymond, and Jayce, and 2 great grandsons, Josiah and Damien, Jr., Uncle Norman Barree of Aldenville, and numerous cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2 – 5 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, with a funeral home service during the visitation at 3:30 PM. The burial will be private.
