CHICOPEE – SFC, Roger William Pelland, U. S. Army, Retired, 58, of Chicopee entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 4, 2011. Born in Chicopee and a life long resident, he was the son of Eleanor (Marchand) Pelland Vardakis and the late Adrien Pelland. Roger was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. He served his country with pride and distinction in the U.S. Army for twenty years and was a veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. He retired in 1991. Roger is survived by his mother, Eleanor Vardakis of Chicopee; his wife, Sandra (Cunningham) Pelland of FL; his former wife, Angelica Pelland of NC; two sons, Travis Pelland and Spec.4, Patrick Pelland, USA, both of NC; his brother, Keith Morin and his wife, Maryjane; his sister, Donna Furnelli and her husband, Edward all of Chicopee, a sister, Denise Pelland of New Mexico; two grandchildren; an aunt, Bernadette Pelland of MI; two nephews and two grand nephews.
