Roger Ball

Roger Ball 1922 � 2011 HOLYOKE � Roger Ball, 88, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Holyoke Geriatric Authority. He was born in Chicopee on March 20, 1922 to the late George and Ea (Thibodeau) Ball. Roger attended schools in Chicopee and Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke Trade School. He served our country during WWII in the United States Coast Guard. After his discharge from the military, Roger made his home in Chicopee. He retired from Craftmount Co. after many years of service. Roger was a parishioner of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church where he was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart where he earned a Medal of Honor. He was also a former member of the Holyoke Country Club. Roger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty-four years, Irene R. (Lajoie) of Holyoke and his daughter Denise Ball of Holyoke. He was predeceased by his sister, Blanche Lajoie. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1943 Northampton St. Holyoke. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. A calling hour will precede the Liturgy from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home 811 Chicopee St. Chicopee, MA.
