Robert Thivierge

CHICOPEE- Robert P. Thivierge, 82, was born on July 5, 1932 in Holyoke MA, and went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Pierre W. and Emma (Brassard) Thivierge, and his siblings- brothers Wilfred, Roger, Alphonse, and sister Emma. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He was a graduate of American International College in Springfield (BS) and Westfield College (MS) and was a teacher at Chicopee High School, primarily in the business and computer technology departments. He retired in 1993 after educating the city youth for over 30 years. He was a well-known jazz musician, playing drums in several local bands. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Oct., 15, 2014 from 5-8PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013 with a funeral home service celebrated at 7:30PM.
