Chicopee – Robert “Robbie” Francis Everson, Jr., 32, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. He was born in Springfield to Della-Marie (Newell) D’Antonio and Robert F. Everson, Sr., and was a 2008 graduate of Easthampton High School. Following high school, at the age of 18, Robert enlisted in the United States Army.
In younger years, Robbie attended the Monster Truck Events with his grandmother, Michele, and played basketball in Junior High. While in High School, Robbie loved acting in the school plays and was known as one of the only male cheerleaders.
Robbie and his grandmother were season ticket holders for the Springfield Thunderbirds, where they were known as ‘Goombotz and the Monkey Guy’ and they attended many Boston Red Sox games. Together they shared many memories before her passing in 2021.
Robert was employed for many years with in-ground pool installations. He was an avid pool player, online gamer, and had a fun and outgoing personality that his family and friends will never forget. Robbie loved making everyone feel happy.
He is survived by his mother, Della-Marie D’Antonio and John F. Pelland of Chicopee; his father, Robert Everson, Sr. and Rachael Everson of Tyler, TX; sister, Barbara Miller and her husband, Gary and their two children; paternal grandmother, Sandra Pirog; step uncles, Tim and Randy Robare; several cousins whom he adored, and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Michele “Goombotz” Newell and Leonard Newell; step-grandfather, Gerald ‘Pops’ Robare; paternal grandfather, Ronald Everson and by his brother, Paul Everson.
Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, with a 6:15 PM service in the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
