Robert Joseph Champagne, born in Holyoke, MA, on April 17, 1958, son of Leo and Vivian (DeLude) Champagne and a longtime resident of Chicopee, MA, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2025. Robert’s greatest pride and joys in life were his wife, Karen, and their two daughters, Dana and Carly, whom he loved with all his heart and would do anything for. His devotion to Karen, his high school sweetheart and partner of 48 years, was unwavering, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories as they raised their family. Robert had a deep love for his dogs, cherishing the memories of Shane, Jake, Myles, and Max, while sharing an unbreakable bond with his current companions, Jax and Deuces. Robert was also a lifelong sports fan, passionately cheering for the Red Sox, Raiders, Lakers, and Bruins. He also enjoyed spending time fishing and creating countless memories with those he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Scott Clouser; daughter and her fiancé, Carly Champagne and Dylan Gillen; sister and lifelong partner, Linda Carmine and James Maslowski; brother and sister-in-law Leo and Diane Champagne; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Paul Wilcox; brother and sister-in laws, David and Tina Colucci; and several nieces, nephews, grandniece and great grandniece. He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Vivian Champagne.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him and whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 31, 2025, for calling hours for Robert from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA.
A service will be held at Brunelle Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
