Obituary

Robert Harvey Carpenter, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Born on October 9, 1952, Robert was a longtime resident of both Chicopee and West Springfield, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, earning the National Defense Service Medal.

Throughout his career, Robert was a dedicated leader, serving for many years as a manager at Precision Camera in Enfield, CT, as well as Facemate in Chicopee, MA.

An adventurous soul with a passion for life, Robert was an avid skydiver and loved riding his motorcycle, especially participating in benefit runs to support local causes. Above all, he cherished the time spent with those he loved—whether he was heading out to NASCAR races, cheering on his granddaughter at her cheer competitions and softball games, or proudly sitting in the stands at every single one of his grandson's hockey games.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert Carpenter and Bernice (Pothier) Carpenter; his brother, Gary; and his son, Michael.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Sarah, and her husband Kevin; his cherished grandchildren, Jaxson and Danica; his brother Daniel of North Adams; his brother Wayne and his wife Marisa of Chicopee; along with several nieces, nephews, many cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and many close friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee Street, Chicopee, MA.

A military burial service with full honors will follow at 2:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's honor to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) (dav.org/donate).
