Rita G. Putman

CHICOPEE- Rita (Sansoucy) Putman, 97, passed away peacefully at Willimansett Center West on Friday, September 22, 2017. She was born in Holyoke on March 30, 1920 a daughter of the late Felix and Josephine (Clitch) Sansoucy and educated at St. Rose de Lima School. She was a longtime livestock farmer at Piltch Farms where she tended to the chicken farm for over 30 years. She liked playing Bingo and cards as well as crocheting and cooking for her family on the farm for get togethers. Rita was active at the Grocki Club for many years, volunteered at the Food Bank in Belchertown and former communicant of St. Francis Church in Belchertown. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter D. Putman in 1991 and by a son, Thomas Lapointe. She is survived by her three daughters, Lucille Paine of Brattleboro, VT; Ann Bussiere and her fianc� Bill Fielder of Gilbertville, MA; Katherine Pelletier and her husband Garland of Lincolnton, NC; two sons, William Lapointe and his fianc� Joane of VT; Robert Lapointe of Williamsburg, MA. Rita leaves many grandsons, granddaughters as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 9Am from Brunelle�s and be followed by A liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
