Richard Pelland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke and was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Germaine (Boulais) Pelland and by his brothers, Vincent, Roy, and Joseph. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Kathleen (Bullens) Pelland, his sons; David Pelland of Farmington, CT, and Brian Pelland and his wife Stephanie of Beverly, MA., his grandchildren; Julie, Jeffrey, Samuel and Marley Pelland and his sister, Louise Pearce of Myrtle Beach, SC. Rich was a good friend to many and always ready to help others. His family was so important to him and they enriched his life. In his lifetime he was a mechanic, US Army Veteran, silk-screener, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was educated in the Chicopee Schools and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4 - 7pm at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 beginning at 8:45am at the Brunelle Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St. in Chicopee. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the St. Rose De Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Please remember to wear your mask throughout the funeral services and follow social distancing guidelines. A celebration of life service will be held for Richard at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
