CHICOPEE- Richard Francis Cieslak, 64, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Richard is the third generation owner of the Colonial Inn in Chicopee and has been the proprietor for over 20 years. He and his beloved wife of 35 years, Sandra Lee (Nubile) Cieslak have had the pleasure of serving the residents of Chicopee for many years and have established generations of friends and colleagues. Richard was educated in local schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation where he served honorably during Vietnam aboard the USS Gainard. Richard worked for his father, the late Edward Cieslak at the Colonial for many years and was an avid hunter, fisherman and arranged many outdoor trips for family and friends especially enjoying his trips to Vermont and Lake Champlain. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his mother, Hazel (Riopel) Cieslak of Chicopee; his son, Ronald Franck of Chicopee and his extended family of sisters in law, a brother in law and many dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. His funeral will begin on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 9:30AM at the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. The burial with military honors will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Olson St., Chicopee.
