Rene' G. Dion

Rene' G. Dion, 84, died on Saturday, Aug. 20th, at his home in Belchertown surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 1, 1938, in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada, he moved to the U.S. at age 17, and lived most of his life in Chicopee.
Rene' worked many of his first years here at Moore Drop Forging and later for 30+years running his own business, R.D. Siding, where he installed siding, windows, and roofing.
Rene' served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in Post war Germany.
He leaves behind his wife, Ginette (Fugere) Dion of Drummondville, Quebec, daughter, Sonya MacPhail, and son, John Dion, 5 grandchildren, Tiffany (Stephanie) Surprenant (MacPhail), Sage MacPhail, Logan MacPhail, Jessica MacPhail, and Angelique MacPhail.
Rene' also leaves behind his great granddaughter, Johanna Surprenant, 4 out of 16 siblings, Andre' Dion (Twin brother), Nicole Laliberte, Pierre Dion, who lived in MA and Jeanine Pepin of Canada
Calling hours for Rene' will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, from 4-6 p.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. Chicopee.
Rene' will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday, Sept 2, at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. For online condolences please visit www.brunellefuneralhome.com
