Chicopee - Raymond L. Crochetiere, 88, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Holyoke Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Westfield, MA, a son of the late Charles and Cordelia (Boucher) Crochetiere. He was educated in Holyoke schools and later served proudly in the U.S. Army. Raymond worked for over 30 years in paper manufacturing as a machine operator for several companies including Marcal, Mead, Texon, and Ampad.
Raymond loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching them compete in Taekwondo. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox vs. Yankee games, playing cards, bingo and taking his daily long walks through Holyoke, South Hadley, and Chicopee. He was blessed with 37 years of marriage to Irene (Betie) Crochetiere, who passed in 1992. He was also predeceased by his beloved first grandchild, Andrew Crochetiere in April 2019 and by his five brothers, Charles, Arthur, Alden, Roger, and George. He will be missed by his children, Debra Crochetiere with whom he lived for many years, David Crochetiere of Feeding Hills, and Tina Boudreau and her husband Jim of Belchertown; his grandchildren, Alyson Kristine and Alicia Lynn Crochetiere, and Kristopher Boudreau; a brother, Francis Crochetiere; a sister, Judy Yeakle and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Raymond’s family would like to thank Vero Health Care for their compassionate care over the past two years at Wingate South Hadley. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4PM-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22nd starting at 8:45AM at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 54 North Summer Street in Holyoke.
