Pierre Dandeneau

CHICOPEE- Pierre Paul Dandeneau, 95, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Wingate at Springfield. He was born in Holyoke, June 5, 1918 the son of the late Pierre Sr. and Louisa (Venne) Dandeneau and educated in Holyoke Schools. He served honorably in the US Army during WWII in the Bat. C 495th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Pierre was a 35 year delivery truck driver for Country Club Soda Co. in Springfield and was a longstanding member of the Teamsters # 104. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Fernande (Menard) Dandeneau in September of 1986. Pierre was a man of great faith and was a longtime communicant of Nativity Church and a member of the League of Sacred Heart for over 50 years as well as being a current parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. He is survived by his two sons, Gerald Dandeneau and his wife Donna of MO; Ronald Dandeneau of Chicopee; his daughter, Louise Kusnierz and her husband Joseph of Springfield; four grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his three sisters and many dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 4-7PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. His funeral will begin on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 9:45AM from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church. The Rite of Committal and Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
