HOLYOKE- Peter “Flags” Karetka, 91, of Chicopee passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was a maintenance man for Fisk & Uniroyal Co for over 25 years. “Flags’ was educated in Holyoke schools and was a veteran of WWII having served honorably in the US Navy. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Czeslawa (Szewc) Karetka and his wife, Rosemary (Trudeau) Karetka in 2004. “Flags” leaves behind his daughters, Susan Lewis of Chicopee; Gail Morin and her husband David of Chicopee; his grandchildren, Christopher Karetka, Jeremy Lewis and his wife Kelly; his great grandchildren, Megan Therrien and Penelope and Theodore Lewis. A chapel service with military honors will be conducted at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at 1PM. Please visit
