Norman E. Rock 1925 � 2010 ATHOL, MA � Norman E. �Rocky� Rock, 84, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Quabbin Valley Health Care. He was born in Holyoke on September 20, 1925 to the late Edward and Alice (Normandin) Rock. Rocky attended schools in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII, where he attained the Good Conduct Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. Rocky was a thirty year Chicopee resident. He retired from Texon, Inc. and during his retirement years worked for Cabotville Industrial Park for twenty years until the age of eighty. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 69. Rocky was a sports enthusiast and supported all of New England�s teams, especially the Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox. He was predeceased by his second wife, Simone R. (Levasseur) on May 19, 1995. He leaves to cherish his memory, his domestic partner and caregiver, Sharon Doucette of Orange, MA; his two daughters, Mona L. Huber and her husband David of Belchertown and Debra Brown of Homestead, FL; his four grandchildren, Rhyan, Nicholle, Selena and Christine; his great grandson, Justin and his former wife Bobbitt Tice of Homestead, FL. Rocky was also predeceased by his brother Leonard Rock. A funeral procession will form on Wednesday, February 24 at 8:45 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne�s Church in Chicopee. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Rocky�s memory, to either the Dakin Animal Shelter, 171 Union St. Springfield, MA or to the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
