Norman Ernest Moreau, 91, beloved husband of 65 years to Rosalie (Campbell) Moreau, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst.
Norman was born on December 19, 1933, in Chicopee, MA, the son of Ernest L. and Bernadette (Proulx) Moreau. He was a lifelong resident of Chicopee and was a graduate of the former Rosary High School.
He received his associate’s degree from Holyoke Community College and later attended the University of Massachusetts, before entering in the U.S. Navy.
He served honorably in the Navy from 1955 – 1957 as a Radar Petty Officer Third Class aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga.
After his service in the Navy, Norm was employed as a Senior Standards Analyst for 35 years at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church and participated in several choirs since 1979 including, Chicopee Community Choir, Moose Lodge Choir, Swinging Singing Seniors of Chicopee, and, most recently, the Young@Heart Chorus in Florence.
Norm enjoyed traveling with his wife Rosalie and was a fan of all the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox.
He leaves his wife, Rosalie of Chicopee, and daughter, Karen Moreau of Long Beach, NY.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 10, for a period of visitation from 9-10:30 AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. Committal prayers and burial with military honors will follow immediately after the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
