Natalie M. Szarek 1918-2010 AGAWAM � Natalie M. (Zoladz) Storozuk Szarek, 91, of Agawam and formerly of State Street, Chicopee, died Thursday, March 25th in Springfield�s Baystate Medical Center. Natalie was born on May 15, 1918 in Holyoke to Joseph and Bronislawa (Kapinos) Zoladz. She was the fourth of seven chidren. Siblings were the late Max Zoladz of Montgomery, MA, the late Loretta Galuszka, the late Stanley Zoladz and Josephine Pliska of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, the late Frank Zoladz of Tennessee and Edward Zoladz of Pittsfield. She was educated in Chicopee and moved to Agawam in 1996. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Willimansett, Chicopee. She worked at AG Spalding during World War II, then as a cook at Pulaski Hall in Willimansett and again at AG Spalding World of Sports from where she retired in 1980. Natalie had a lifelong love of music since she learned to play the piano as a little girl and entertained her extended family by playing and singing throughout the years. She had been active in several groups including the St. Anthony�s Senior Choir, the Rosary Society, the Polish Women�s Alliance Group 317 of Chicopee and a shareholder of the Pulaski Club in Willimansett. Natalie is the widow of Peter T. Szarek who died in 1996 and of Walter F. Storozuk who died in 1952, both popular area musicians. She leaves two sons, Walter J. Storozuk and his wife, Evelyn of Chicopee and Peter J. Szarek and his wife Patricia of Wesley Chapel, NC; a daughter, Bernice M. Rueli and her husband Frank A. Rueli, Jr. of Agawam; grandchildren Kathryn and Cynthia Storozuk of Springfield, Thomas Storozuk and his wife Judith of Newbury, NH, Stephen A. Rueli of Wakefield, MA, Sandra A. Rueli of Agawam, Anthony D. Rueli of Northampton, Leah Szarek of Washington, DC and Taryn Szarek of Raleigh, NC; great grandchildren Samuel, Joseph and Kaylyn Storozuk of Newbury, NH and Caius W. Rueli of Agawam; two goddaughters, Virginia Galuszka of Willimansett and Eleanor Zoladz Pagnoni of Suffield, CT and a godson, Thomas Zoladz of Huntsville, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday morning, March 30, 2010 from the Brunelle Funeral Home 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee at 10 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee.
