Mignonne M. Roy

Mignonne “Minnie” M. (Ruel) Roy, beloved wife of Regis G. Roy who predeceased her in 2006, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 94.
Minnie was born on September 17, 1929, in Biddeford, ME, a daughter of Joseph and Claudia (Lavoie) Ruel.
She was raised and educated in Maine, before becoming a longtime resident of Chicopee.
Minnie was a former employee of Sickles Coil in Chicopee and later as a clerk at Smith and Wesson in Springfield.
She was a parishioner of the former Nativity Church in Willamansett and a current parishioner of St. Anne’s Church in Chicopee.
Minnie enjoyed knitting and tending to her vegetable garden.
She was blessed with a pleasant disposition and had the ability to light up a room.
Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and close friends.
Minnie leaves behind her beloved son, Roger H. Roy and his wife, Marianne of South Hadley, and sister, Claire Roy of Biddeford, ME.
A period of visitation will be held for Minnie on Thursday, May 16, from 9 - 10 a.m. at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anne Church, 30 College St., Chicopee.
Committal prayers and burial will follow immediately after the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Minnie’s name may be made to St. Anne Church, 30 College St. Chicopee, MA 01020.
