CHICOPEE- Michiyo (Hamabe) Glasson, 84, of Chicopee, passed away at Harmony House on Monday, May 6, 2019. She was born in Kobe, Japan on May 27, 1934 to Chiozzburo and Tsuyako (Kamino) Hamabe. After her marriage, she immigrated to Massachusetts where she worked for Spaulding for many years. She enjoyed spending time at the casino and cooking traditional Japanese meals. Michiyo was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul H. Glasson on September 11, 2013. She is survived by her children, Marilyn White and her husband Art of Chicopee; James Glasson and his wife Christie of Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Japan. She also leaves her dear friend Kazuko. A private graveside service will be held at West Street Cemetery in Granby at the convenience of the family.
