CHICOPEE- Marion (Gentile) LaMountain, 97, a longtime Chicopee resident and faithful parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Church passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Jewish Nursing Home, Longmeadow, MA. She was born in Melrose, MA on May 27, 1916 a daughter of the late Lawrence and Addie (Leavitt) Gentile. Marion was an office manager for over 40 years having worked at B.F. Goodrich in Springfield and for broadcasting station WMAS. She was a Notary Public for many years and volunteered at Baystate Medical Center in her spare time. She was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed flower gardening and was active with her late husband, Noah LaMountain (1988) in numerous philanthropic and community events. Marion is survived by her 3 stepdaughters, Rose Marie Nathan of W. Spfld; Beverly Armstrong of TX; Beryl Parrott of Saugus; a stepson, Francis J. LaMountain of CA., and two brothers, Lester and Richard Gentile both of FL. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members who will always remember her gentleness. Visiting hours will be Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 8:30AM-10:30AM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be in St. Michael�s Cemetery, 1601 State St., Spfld. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Red Cross, Pioneer Valley Chptr, 506 Cottage St., Spfld, MA 01104 or to Dakin for Animals, 171 Union St., Spfld, MA 01101.
