Chicopee - Marie-Marthe F. (Fugere) Trudel, 83, of Chicopee, MA passed away on November 6th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Joseph E. Fugere and Jeanne (Belisle) Fugere in Drummondville, Canada on September 27, 1941. She lived in Sorel Canada until she was 15 (1957), when she relocated to Holyoke, MA with her family and has lived in Chicopee since 1959. She married the love of her life, Jean-Claude Trudel on October 31, 1959, who predeceased her on December 10, 2010, after 51 years of marriage. She leaves her 4 children, Elaine Labbe of Chicopee, Janet Parent of Blandford, Ann Letendre (husband Ronald) of Chicopee and Steven Trudel (Keith Ruhe) of Quaker Hill, CT. She is survived by 5 siblings, Gilles Fugere (Pierrette) of Chicopee, Real Fugere of L'Orignal, Ontario, Canada, Jocelyne Bergheim of Venice, FL, Normand Fugere (Al Conn) of Sarasota, FL and Lorraine Cheatham of Agawam. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Monique Guertin-Trudel of Canada and Devra (Sic) Fugere of West Hartford, CT. She was predeceased by her brothe,r Serge Fugere of West Hartford, CT; her brother-in-law, Andre Trudel, Ralph Cheatham and Richard Berghem and her sister-in-law, Dolores (Croteau) Fugere. She was a loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren Lynn, Melissa, Nicole, Lisa, Lori, Jeffry, Weston, Brittany and her beloved 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her great-grand-daughter, Harper Yuka. She was an Aunt to many special nieces and nephews. Marie retired from Holyoke Mall at Ingleside's Customer Service supervisor in 2001 and she was a long-time devout member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Padre Pio Prayer Group. She had a passion for art and reading and had fond memories of her dream trip to Europe. She will be missed by her family and friends and her loving pet Bella. Calling hours will be on Friday November 8, 2024, from 8 - 9 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Basilica of St. Stanislaus, 566 Front Street in Chicopee. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Basilica of St. Stanislaus Padre Pio Prayer group or charity of your choosing.
