Maria (Leal) DaCosta, 62, passed away February 14, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born in Spain to Joseph Derosia and Maria DaCosta.
Maria loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed being a grandmother. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Athenea DaCosta in 2021.
Maria also loved the outdoors, and the Grand Canyon was her most favorite place. She was employed at the dry cleaners for many years, where she enjoyed working with her favorite co-worker, Bud.
She leaves her grandchildren, Deandrae DaCosta, Tatyana Villegas and Leasia Villegas; her three siblings, Jimmy Leal, Johnny Barsky and Mary Derosia and a dear friend, John.
Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Friday February 25, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. A service will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A committal service will be held on Saturday February 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee.
