Lucille J. Paine

Chicopee – Lucille J. (LaPointe) Paine, 74, loving wife of Thomas Paine, who predeceased her March 22, 2018, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Holyoke, MA to Aime G. LaPointe and Rita (Sansoucy) Putman, she was raised and educated in Belchertown and received her Associates degree from Holyoke Community College.

As a teenager, Lucille worked at the State School in Belchertown and later was employed as a cook at the former Willimansett Nursing Home in Chicopee for many years. She loved to cook for her family, and enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. She leaves her two loving and devoted sons, Michael A. Converse and his partner, Dawn Donahue of Holyoke and Scott A. Converse and his fiancee Jeannette Robare of Chicopee; her siblings, William “Bill” LaPointe of Townshead, VT, Robert LaPointe of Williamsburg, MA and Kathy Pelletier of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Caitlyn, Nicholas, and Kevin; one great-granddaughter, Ellie, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Ann Bussiere and Thomas LaPointe and by her grandson, Sean Converse.
Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Wednesday March 29th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA.
