Lucille T. (Bernash) Strange

Chicopee – Lucille Theresa (Bernash) Strange, 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 9, 2020. Born in Chicopee to the late Oscar and Eva (Sarrasin) Bernash, she attended Chicopee Schools and Holy Rosary High School. She was employed as a Sales Clerk at both Bradlees and W.T. Grants for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth G, Strange in 2005. They had many happy years together and loved to travel. Lucille enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening, shopping, reading, watching TV especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and cherishing the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her four children. Roger W. Strange and his wife Diane of South Hadley, Thomas M. Strange and his wife Gwen, Elaine M. Keane and her husband Thomas, and Ann M. Wheelock and her husband Clifford, all of Chicopee; by her six grandchildren, Tammy, Tina, Roger Jr., Christopher, Paul and Nicole and by nine great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Kenneth, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia A. Christian and by her four brothers.
A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday June 16th, 2020 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., in Chicopee followed by an 11:00 AM service in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Rose De Lima Cemetery in Chicopee. Please be respectful of social distancing both at the funeral home and the cemetery and a mask is required by all in attendance. Memorial donations may be made in Lucille’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104. Please leave a condolence for the family at www.brunellefuneralhome.com
