Louis E. Antaya 1946 � 2010 HOLYOKE � Louis E. Antaya, 64, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke on June 8, 1946 to Claire A. (Boucher) Antaya of Holyoke and the late Louis A. Antaya. Louis attended schools in Holyoke and graduated from Precious Blood High School. Upon graduating from high school, Louis entered the United States Army where he served our country during the Vietnam War. While in the military, Louis earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his discharge, Louis re-enlisted in the Army National Guard and served from 1977 to 1990. He was a lifelong parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. Louis worked for the former American Writing Co. for fifteen years and more recently, Hazen Paper Co. for the past eighteen years. Beside his mother, Louis leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Marissa A. Sullivano and her husband, Jeff, Sr. of Chicopee; his sister, Marie Anne Crochetiere and her husband George of Holyoke; his two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Skye Sullivano both of Chicopee and his best canine buddy Bo. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Beside his father, Louis was predeceased by his former wife, Gail (Minnutello) and his sister Rita Fontaine. A funeral procession will form at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22 at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. Burial with Military Honors will follow the Liturgy in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
