CHICOPEE- Lorraine M. (Miller) Demers, 77, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Wingate of South Hadley. Lorraine was born on October 2, 1936 in Jamestown, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Arthur and Freida Miller. After graduating high school she proudly served her country in the United States Navy where she met her husband Robert Demers. Lorraine and Robert were married on May 18, 1957 and spent 37 loving years together until his passing in 1994. Lorraine and her family moved to Granby, MA in 1975 and lived there for over 30 years. She worked as a machine operator at Smith & Wesson for 14 years and retired from Universal Products. Lorraine enjoyed fishing, camping, archery, and playing cards in her spare time. She was predeceased by her brother Leroy Miller. Lorraine is survived by two sons, Robert Demers and his wife Ginger, and David Demers and his wife Theresa; a daughter, Constance Demers; three grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, and Ryan; and one sister, Alice Boucher. A funeral home service for Lorraine will be Monday, August 25 at 10:00AM in the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA, followed by burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee.
