South Hadley – Lois L. (Levreault) Sweeney, 70, died at home suddenly on Wednesday, July 7. She was born in Greenfield on April 16, 1940, a daughter of the late Louis and Esther (Bateman) Levreault. She was a twenty year South Hadley resident and former fifty year Chicopee resident. She was a graduate of Chicopee High School and attended STCC where she received her certification as a dental assistant. She was previously employed at the offices of Dr. Ryan and Dr. Robbins. Lois was a member of the Dental Assistants Association, former Den Mother of Cub Scout Post 4044, long time communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Willimansett and was involved in many parish activities, and an avid Red Sox fan. She is survived by her son, Mark A. Sweeney and his wife Mary of West Springfield, and her daughter Kathleen M. Sweeney and her husband Martin Murphy of Ludlow. She will be sadly missed by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Donna Sanocki in 1983. Relatives and friends are invited to meet on Thursday, July 15 for a 10am Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Anne Church, 30 College St. in Chicopee followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in Lois’ memory may be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
