CHICOPEE – Lionel G. “Leo” Hetu, 83, died on Monday, May 26 in a local nursing home. He was born in Chicopee on February 10, 1925, the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Deslauriers) Hetu. He attended local schools and proudly served in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years. He was a former thirty year Boston resident, and fifteen year Chicopee resident. He was a member, and volunteer at the Chicopee Senior Center. He was predeceased by his wife Mary. He is survived by his sister, Claire M. Moreau of Chicopee, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Gosselin in 2002. Calling hours at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., are Monday, June 2nd from 2 -3:30pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
